At the beginning of May, we issued a challenge. In order to help some of us get motivated to be healthier, we set up a fitness challenge through DailyMile.com. The challenge was to walk, run, swim, bike…whatever… to get to a collective 1,400 miles by 2014. (You can read more about the #DadsRT14x14 challenge here.)
Well, after tallying the miles tonight around 10PM Monday, June 24th, we were sitting at 1445 miles—in a month and a half. (Lots of credit to the cyclists out there. You all rack up some miles.)
Since that fitness challenge was left in the dust, we figured it was time for a 360! #DadsRT360, to be exact.
The last challenge was a collective effort. Even though DailyMile isn’t really set up to do collective races, we kept track of our total miles to make it a group event. This time, we want to you challenge and motivate each other, but also challenge and motivate yourselves. We’re setting the goal at 360 miles by New Year’s Eve.
As before, to participate, simply go to DailyMile.com and look in the community challenges for DadsRT360 Challenge (there’s a big blue circular arrow around it) or just follow this link to go directly there. (If you don’t have an account, it only takes a minute to set one up, and the interface is pretty intuitive.) When you workout, simply stop in to your DailyMile account and log it in. Any workouts you input after you join the #DadsRT360 Challenge will be automatically tallied for you in the challenge. Check your standings and encourage others by leaving comments and friending other participants!
Every week, we’ll call out how we’re doing overall and give some shoutouts to people kicking ass that week.
Here’s to your health. We’ll see you on the mile!
