US Marshals Raid CES Booth

Published on January 10, 2016Filed Under: Dads Round Table Tagged With: CES

Talk about embarrassing!

United States Marshals raided a booth at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) last Thursday. Their haul? One-wheeled electric scooters.

The company that made them (Changzhou First International Trade Company) was apparently sued by American company Future Motion, on patent infringement allegations. In a telephone session, US District Judge Miranda Du issued an order that Changzhou’s products be seized and that it stop sales, prompting the raid.

Crazy right? What do you think about this? Seems a little bold to try and showcase/sell obvious knockoff products right here in the US—at a huge conference, no less!

*Photo credit also goes to Changzhou – the pics are still on their Alibaba site, just not the scooters…
