“I can assure you, great beast, that I am no more a fool than you are a lazy sheep out to pasture,” the girl replied.
“What business do you have here, you pathetic little speck.  You are surely lost, or you would not have treaded so eagerly into my home.  Brave hearts and fools are but of the same taste to me, but I will give you short audience before I end your folly.  Speak quickly and mind your tongue and I may let you have a head start, not that it will matter much.”
“I am not leaving, nor will I mind my tongue.  I came for a family treasure that you have in your keep.  Give it back to me and I shall let you keep your tongue.”
“My, my,” she chuckled loudly, emitting a plume of dark smoke as she did so.  “And what may I ask it this trinket that you so eagerly wish to collect back from me?”
“It is a golden necklace, layered in the finest of gems.  The pendant is the queen’s heart.  You know exactly what you have gotten from my family, monster.  That necklace is the single largest symbol of power in my queen’s entire domain.  Give it back to me so that I may return it to its rightful owner.”
“And if I say no?  After all, I believe I now own that bauble.  In your carelessness, you let it be taken from your house by a mere thief and beggar.  It would seem that it is not so precious to your little queen, lest it would not be here now; nor that ill-fated thief’s bones for that matter.”
“I say now, great pearl demon, give me back the necklace and I shall take my leave of this place and not return; do not and there will be more than that vagabond’s blood that will be shed on this day.”
“ENOUGH!!!” the dragon roared, “I will not be spoken to as though I am that same common thief who so easily carried away your mother’s necklace, stupid girl.  You enter my home and test my patience.  No man enters this place without deadly consequences, and you shall fare no better.  You had your chance, wench!  Your words this day will be your last!”
